In 1968, a group of French immigrants arrived in Miami. Most of them wanted freedom from their overly strict parents; the tight leashes were suffocating them. Others were children of the wealthy, just in for the ride. America was the place to be, so they went there.
Around the same time, a group of Italian immigrants arrived in the city. They were also seeking freedom from their parents. Most of them were children of people who were deep in the Italian mafia, and they didn't want to get caught up in that.
For awhile, everyone lived side by side with no conflicts. Everything was peaceful, until 1975, when the French immigrants threw a masquerade. Everyone knew that that the Italians were offended that they hadn't been involved, so when a fire broke out at the hotel where the ball was held and five people ended up dead, the French didn't hesitate to point their fingers at the Italians. Two months later, an elevator cable broke in the Delano hotel, killing six people. While the official investigation deemed it an accident, the Italians were convinced that the French were behind it. To this day, no one really knows who was behind the attacks, but it didn't matter to the injured parties; the war was officially on.
Over three decades have passed; the French and Italians still haven't settled their differences. They've even dragged their children into the fight. With the kids in the same schools and the same social circles, can they keep from killing each other? Will they end their parents' feud? Do they even want to?
