Welcome to True Magic Lies Within a Merlin rp where we are currently set at the end of series two just after the final episode. However things happened a little differently here...


The Great Dragon was released and he left Camelot without causing trouble. However it turns out that he was not the only Dragon left in the world and another harboured a much stronger grudge with considerably less wisdom than the Great Dragon. This particular Dragon came to Camelot and took his revenge, ravaging attacks on the innocent people and drawing out Camelot's knights only to slaughter them where they stood. It was now that Launcelot chose to return, having decided that his love for Guinevere was too strong to turn his back on. He arrived in the city and immediately assisted with the knights' struggles. When the attacks ceased for the night, he followed the soldiers into the hall and requested the King ask for magical beings to assist Camelot. When this was refused, Gaius suggested finding Balinor, the last Dragonlord to help them.


It was eventually decided that this would happen. Arthur and Merlin would go and hunt Balinor whilst Launcelot would stay with the knights and help them prepare for yet another siege. It was during this stay that Launcelot and Guinevere realised how honest their love for each other was and how clear it was becoming that they were struggling to control their feelings. Meanwhile Arthur and Merlin did find Balinor and they were on their way back when they were ambushed and Balinor was killed. Merlin was so devastated by the events that he came clean with Arthur about his magic and his parentage. Shocked, Arthur was torn between his friend / servant and his duty. They returned home and Uther was finally told the truth about Merlin and Gaius put his life on the line admitting he knew the truth too Arthur came up with the idea that if Merlin could use his abilities then he should earn a full pardon since he had only ever used his abilities to help Arthur in times of trouble. Uther agreed and Merlin admitted he had freed the Great Dragon but this was a different one entirely and maybe he could use his dragon lord abilities to summon the Great Dragon back to help.


Lancelot agreed to help Arthur distract the other Dragon and it was here that Arthur realised Lancelot and Gwen's feelings. Hurt but determined to save Camelot, he put thoughts of them aside. He summoned his knights and rode out but not before telling Gwen tofollow her heart and put them both out of further pain thinking that he was going to die along with his men. Merlin summoned the Great Dragon and asked him to take the other Dragon away from Camelot and to a new home. He made him promise not to harm Camelot or anywhere else again, giving them a fresh start away from threat. After some discussion the Dragons left Merlin and Arthur, along with what remained of the knights returned home where Merlin was hailed a hero and granted the title of Court Sorcerer. It was with some reluctance that Uther lifted his ban on sorcery on the condition that it be used for good.


Now all is left is to look for Morgana and to keep peace in Camelot but how long can peace really last? But now that sorcery has returned to the realm, things are going to get really interesting around here. But don't forget ladies and gentlemen the True Magic Lies Within
