So. Mi padre has most delightfully informed me he does not approve of/agree with my role playing activities, for the following three reasons:

• He feels it distracts from my school work/social life/whatever he and mi madre feel need fixing at the moment
  
• He considers it little more than a glorified chat room, because
  
• Nothing of substance is produced from my partaking in it

What does all this mean? Well, at the moment, it looks like I will be spending significantly less time online. Not to say I'll be inactive; I'll still try veddy hard to post replies n'such cuz I'm so marvelous at doing that in a prompt fashion anyway, but I'll be less of a presence. This would seem to appease my parents, anyway.

The other part is that I'm sort of desperate to prove to them how much Sleep Dep, in particular, means to me. The best way I can think to convey this would be to write a novella-ish piece with the characters from Sleep Dep. Thus. I ask votre kind permission to allow me to use your characters in my story. It's laughable to think it'll ever be published, or seen by many people besides my parents and (maybe, eventually) vous lovely folk, but still. I want to do this properly, hence the asking.

d'awww, mimi is sorry your parents feel that way, edie. my parents have similar leanings, but they're not so very well-informed of my internet life, and i can still manage to get away with it. i know i've put some of my best efforts into writing for the site because of the community and the characters and everything just helps inspire. So i totally get it, and i do hope your parents change their views soon. With that said, you can most definitely use my characters. I'd be honored! You know I absolutely adore your writing, and I'd be ecstatic to read your novella.
