The war is over; the battle has been won…so why do these wounds still bleed? And why do these scars not heal? The story doesn’t end when you turn the last page.
When his cold body fell to the rubble of what was once a place of refuge itwas the first time England could breathe freely. The Dark Lord is now dead but at a heavy cost. Many have lost loved ones, homes, and businesses, but life does not stop for the war weary. In the rubble one must pick themselves from the ashes and move into a new life.
It is the summer of 2000 and two years since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort on the cold steps of Hogwarts School. But the end of the war does not mean the end of struggle. Outbreaks of violence still plague the country. Many are in a state of denial. The Ministry is now working to gain back the trust of its people but it is to no avail. People are distrusting of a government that had turned a blind eye to the massacre that had occurred during Voldemort’s reign. The memory of the time of terror will not fade. Newly elected Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt faces a fight at every corner. Despite his war time heroics people are justifiably wary.Last stance groups of Voldemort supporters have simultaneously risen up in various parts of the country trying to stake their own last chance at a claim for power. Harry Potter is still looked upon to be the savior of his people but from what enemy?
Many of those who had their 1998 school year taken away from them have now come back to start over and finish school. After a year’s worth of repairs, Hogwarts is now ready to reopen their doors, but how much has changed and can it ever really go back to the way it was? Who chose to return and who chose to move on? Hidden alliances are still going strong in hopes that their side may turn out to triumph after it all falls down.
The end of war does not always mean an end of turmoil. England is still bleeding. The Wizarding World is crying out to deaf ears for help. Those left with loss, grief, and misery are struggling to move on. In a time of rebuilding their trust will be measured, their friendships tested, and their lives put through a new kind of hell.
