Dear Parent,
You have received this letter because you have chosen to send your teenager to Willow Brooke Correctional Facility or it was recommended by order of a court for you son or daughter to attend based on their recent behavior. With this letter we have sent you a brochure of Willow Brooke, and we hope that it can answer all of your questions. If not just call us with the contact information on the back. The horse. One of God's many, many wonders. Some are tall, dark, and handsome. Some tiny and cute. Some elegant, and beautiful. Some very large and stocky. No matter what the size, shape, or color, they are considered one of the most graceful creatures on the planet. For such large creatures they come with a raw elegance and grace that no human being has been able to capture. Each creature has its own personality like us humans, and they all require a different type of care. Care that is right for the horse and not what the owner wants. Here you will learn the importance of responsibility, care, and kindness, because here you will be working with some very temperamental creatures. The gentle giants known as horses. That's right. Horses. You don't like horses? Too bad. You'll learn to like them. Don't know how to take care of a horse? Don't worry. We have plenty of staff, and we'll teach you everything you need to know about horses. These particular horses need special care. All the horses of Willow Brooke come from abusive homes and poor living conditions. Some were doomed to go to the slaughter house. You could say that these animals understand where you are coming from much more than some human beings. That is the entire point of Willow Brooke. We hope to not only help you heal and change your life, but the horse you will be paired with as well. Willow Brooke is located just outside the small town of Brooke Haven, Montana. This serene small town is nestled in the country-side of Montana, about a thirty minute drive from Bozeman, Montana. It's a fairly quiet place, and the town has certain laws because of Willow Brooke, but it's a nice place for your children to attend a Correctional Facility. It's a top notch facility. We care for each attending student with the proper care they need as well as the proper punishment when it's needed. We hope to be seeing your child attend, and learn the importance of responsibility and the care for another creature. We hope to be the ones to help your child heal and grow. After all, Willow Brooke is a place for hearts to heal. **** So the story is that Jared Martins, the founder and owner of Willow Brooke, lost his wife when he was still pretty young. As hard as it was on his son, Markus, he moved on, but the only way Jared managed to do the same was with their horses. In the years he developed a deep understanding. Horses weren't just animals that you could pet and ride. They were themselves. They each had their own personality and they understood the pain that Jared felt. The horses became his true best friends that he could tell secrets to and never have to worry about them getting out. Jared wanted to bring that to others, and by doing so, he created Willow Brooke Correctional Facility, after his late wife Willow. A place for troubled teens to come and find a friend in the horses of Willow Brooke. Horses that also came from a bad past. Not just for teens to find a friend in horses though. The horses that Willow Brooke houses have troubled pasts of their own, except for some of the staff members' horses. Most of the horses that Willow Brooke houses are rescues from various slaughter houses and humane societies. Jared hoped that maybe by combining both a troubled teen and a troubled horse, the rider/horse pair could help each other in the healing process. So Willow Brooke still stands, and of course, has a higher success rate than failure rate when it comes to releasing troubled teens as well rounded adults into society. The road to success can be somewhat bumpy though. The question is... Are you ready?
