“Now, now, I think you would like to hear what I have to say about her. You see, poor Odette is eighteen and single. Unfortunately, men just don’t understand what it means to be in love with such a… such a sure woman. She’s not going to depend on you. She doesn’t need you, of course, but I would like her to be married. And married to a good man, that cares for her. Because, eventually, she grows on you. Otherwise, she’d be dead.”
[nervous and hearty laughter]
“So there is to be a ball, yes? Well, if my dear Odette is a maiden at that ball, she’ll turn nineteen – as the next day is her birthday – and be unmarried. How horrifying! But, you see, if my darling Odette is married at the ball, to one of you handsome suitors—” [Sir Wilhelm’s smile wavers slightly when he looks over the men] “—well, you’ll have a mighty prize. You all know of my good fortune when it comes to scouring new land, yes? Well, I’ve got a grand, large plantation that could rival any royal one. And you’re all welcome to it!”
[cheering]
“That is… if you can charm my daughter. And get her hand in marriage in seven days, by the night of the ball.” [gleeful laughing from Sir Wilhelm] “I’d get to it, men, she’s not very easy to win. Not in the slightest.”
[sounds of men scurrying out, in direction of the castle; three or four stay behind to speak to the duke about what could get them closer to Odette][/size][/font]

so you think you can charm the lady odette, eh? well, it's time we see if anyone can -- sir wilhelm is very tired of trying to match his daughter up, and it's high time he lets her play cat and mouse with prospective men!
men from all around will be brought to the castle (due to a deal with the king, who is as tired as odette's father of her being single and running rampant, even if his daughter does adore her) to contend for odette's hand. some will be cut down at the knees, and some will make it to the very end.
there will be simple charming, and there will also be competing. this idea is subject to change, but what do you think?
i figure rian isn't the only one desperate to have odette married and quieted. not that that will happen, of course.

I think it actually would be fun though if Adalia interfered with choosing the more... exceptional suitors, because she'd be afraid that Odette would turn them down immediately.
Also, are we going to double to create male suitors, or pull more people into the proboards?
