Well. This was new. Arienne paused as she looked around. Where in the hell was she anyway? the 1920's? again? Why did time keep changing for her and just what had she taken to make her trip so badly? She was wondering so much and yet she had no answers. A small sigh passed her lips as she wandered through the streets, looking around in wonder. Could she really be home here? It felt right but so had the last time she'd slipped back in time. It was all so confusing.
"Hello??"
Her voice was hesitant and she froze. Nobody replied and she found she was smiling as she walked forwards, hesitating as a car zoomed past. Really. Well, she'd have to be far more careful now. She'd have to remember to watch her step and she could only pray she wasn't alone here.
She could hear music playing from across the street and she smiled. She was really home. Her feet seemed to move on their own as she half skipped across the street. Home at last. She'd never really thought of the 20's as being her kind of world but it was. It really was. She loved it here and she prayed she wouldn't slip back in time again. She'd hated it living in some dreadful castle and the idea of having to remember to act like royalty had always been a little difficult for a smalltown girl who'd moved here. Now though, now she was home and happy and she had the music to guide her.
She was half dancing by now, happy, jubilant. People often thought she was crazy but she just didn't care. She loved that she could dance to her hearts content here. She didn't have to be polite and she didn't have to pretend that she wasn't from the country she belonged to. America. 1920's America. Oh how wonderful it was.
"I'm home at last."
She was beaming.
